All grooming sessions may take from 1.5 to 3 hours or more. Please do not push our groomer to finish quickly. If you are seeking some fast and cheap services, we may not be your choice.

🐾 Grooming Pricing, Policies & Important Information

Pricing Basis

Our grooming prices are based on pets attending regular grooming appointments every 6–8 weeks.

Maintaining this schedule allows us to achieve consistent grooming results and maintain your pet’s coat in a healthy condition.

Pets that have not been groomed within this timeframe may require additional time and labour, and therefore extra charges may apply.

Coat Condition & Matting Policy

All prices listed do not include dematting.

  Dematting is charged from $15 per 10 minutes
  
• 
  Heavily matted coats significantly increase grooming time and may affect your pet’s comfort and wellbeing
  

In cases of severe matting, humane clipping may be recommended to prevent pain or stress.

We strongly recommend daily brushing, especially for breeds that require frequent coat maintenance, including but not limited to:

Poodles, Bichon Frise, Japanese Spitz, Samoyed, and other long-coated or double-coated breeds.

Health & Safety Requirements

For the safety of all pets and staff:

  All pets must be up to date with vaccinations
  
• 
  All dogs and cats must be registered with Dogs and Cats Online (South Australia)
  

If fleas are discovered during grooming, a compulsory flea rinse will be applied to prevent cross-contamination.

An additional charge applies from $40, depending on size and coat condition.

Cancellation & Rescheduling Policy

We require a minimum of 48 hours’ notice for any cancellation or rescheduling of appointments.

Please note:

  Receiving a reminder does not override the 48-hour notice requirement
  

Failure to provide sufficient notice may result in a cancellation fee.

Late Arrival & Pick-Up

Late arrival may result in:

Late pick-up may incur additional charges, as it affects staff schedules and the wellbeing of pets in our care.

Behaviour & Right of Refusal

Summer Pet reserves the right to refuse or stop grooming if a pet:

  Is in an unacceptable physical or coat condition
  
• 
  Shows aggressive or unsafe behaviour toward staff or other pets
  

These decisions are made in the interest of staff safety, pet welfare, and humane handling standards.

Owner Responsibility & Disclosure

Pet owners are responsible for informing us of:

  Any medical conditions, injuries, or mobility issues
  
• 
  Any behavioural concerns, including anxiety or aggression
  

This information allows us to tailor the grooming process to your pet’s needs and ensure a safe experience.

Grooming Risk Disclaimer

While every care is taken to ensure a safe and comfortable grooming experience, grooming carries inherent risks, particularly for:

  Elderly pets

  Pets with existing medical conditions
  
• 
  Pets with severely matted coats or sensitive skin

Bath & Dry

Includes washing, drying, nail clipping, and ear cleaning.

Bath & Tidy

Includes washing, brushing, drying, nail clipping, ear cleaning, anal gland expression, and tidy-up of paws and face.

This service is available only to regular clients attending every 6 weeks or less.

Full Groom

Includes washing, brushing, drying, nail clipping, ear cleaning, anal gland expression, full body clip (under 1.2 cm), and face grooming.

Style Cut

Includes hand-styled grooming and scissor work.
